A press conference was held Friday afternoon, at the Buzz studios on Cottondale Lane, to welcome a new addition to the weekday lineup-the local Sports Talk program hosted by Bo Mattingly, a 13 year veteran of radio and television sports broadcasting.

Sports Talk with Mattingly, will air on KABZ weekday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  The program will follow the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. show The Zone, hosted by Justin Acri, Pat Bradley and Joe Franklin and will air right before the top-rated show of the day, Drivetime Sports, hosted by Randy Rainwater and Rick Schaeffer, which broadcasts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
KABZ local programming begins at 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the
Show With No Name hosted by Tommy Smith and David Bazzel.

“Over the last 10 years, Bo has developed a reputation for having inside information, breaking stories and an ability to produce compelling content.  It also helps that he has a great sense of humor,” said Steve Jonsson, General Manager of KABZ.  “We believe Bo’s experience and personality will flow nicely with our other local shows and will only help us continue to be number one in the ratings.”

The Show With No Name has a 14.9 share in KABZ’s target demographic of Men 25-54.  Following the morning show is The Zone, has a 14.8 share in Men 25-54. Drivetime Sports which airs from the flagship station of 103.7 The Buzz and is broadcast on 13 affiliates of the Buzz Radio Network, has a 22.3 share in KABZ’s target demographic of Men 25-54. All three local shows are number one with Men 25-54.

“Our goal has been to be live and local from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and we realized this was our chance to finally make it happen,” said Justin Acri, program director of KABZ. “Bo will provide a fresh approach to sports coverage for our listeners and it gives The Buzz an opportunity to have someone in Fayetteville to
give insightful and timely content regarding Razorback athletics.”

Sports Talk is owned and operated by Sports Personality, LLC and is produced from their studios in Fayetteville. KABZ will be Sports Talk’s largest affiliate and reign as the flagship station.  Sports Talk will also be heard on select affiliates throughout Arkansas.

“To join the number one sports talk radio station in the state is
a great opportunity and I am honored to be part of such an amazing group of talented people and successful radio shows,” said Mattingly. “The goal of Sports Talk from the beginning has been to produce a compelling sports talk show that would grow throughout Arkansas.”
